Throughout the year the jail assists many different groups in the community with special projects. This group normally consists of one or two Deputy Jailers and state inmates assigned to the shop area. Below is a list of just some of the things they have accomplished.

Building of the new Hopkins County Farmers Market covering, located on the county fairgrounds.

Assembly of approximately 200 bicycles for the West Hopkins Elementary bicycle rodeo.

Building a bridge for the walking trail located at the new Hopkins County Sports Complex.

Installed GPS locators and computer mounting hardware, provided by The Department of Homeland Security, in more than a dozen ambulances and fire trucks from local areas.
